The BuyBreck Team’s Summer Adventures

Summertime in the mountains is nothing short of magical and between dirt trails, garden beds, and real estate spreadsheets, The BuyBreck Team has been soaking it all in. Here’s a little peek behind the scenes of our summer adventures so far:

Incredible down-valley views from Northstar Mountain!

🚵‍♂️ Firecracker 50: Fourth of July Traditions

What’s more Breckenridge than racing mountain bikes through the forest on the Fourth of July? Brady took on the legendary Firecracker 50 as part of a men’s relay team, tackling one grueling 25-mile lap with over 4,000 feet of climbing on some of Breck’s best high-alpine singletrack.

The day started off with an unusual surprise: early morning rain, something we don’t see often during our typically dry Colorado summers. Anna volunteered at the crack of dawn for bib pick-up duty, umbrellas and rain jackets in tow.

As the race got underway, the weather turned dramatic. Riders faced slick, muddy trails, rain downpours, and even hail in higher sections of the course. Despite the wild conditions, the energy around town was incredible, with crowds lining Main Street, cowbells clanging, and American flags flying. It was a true Breckenridge Fourth of July, mud, grit, and all.

🌱 Greenhouse Gardening

Back at home in Blue River, we’ve been getting our hands dirty in the greenhouse. This summer’s lineup includes kale, brussels sprouts, broccoli, tomatoes, strawberries, peppers, and a very happy patch of mint. There's nothing better than harvesting dinner just steps from the back door while watching things grow at 10,000 feet is always an adventure of its own.

🚴‍♀️ Breck to Vail Pass (and Back Again)

A bluebird day on the rec path called for a big ride: 43 miles round trip from Breckenridge to the top of Vail Pass and back. It’s a steady climb with gorgeous views, and of course, the perfect reward waited in Frisco, Prosit beers and sausages made for a well-earned pit stop.
