September Recreation in Summit
September always brings a mix of adventure, community spirit, and those first hints of fall here in Summit County. This month was no different. We kept busy with everything from volunteering to Oktoberfest, camping under the stars, and chasing the first golden leaves of the season.
McGullough’s Gulch in Blue River
Blue River Clean-Up
Anna joined neighbors and volunteers for Blue River’s annual Clean-Up. It’s such a great reminder of how much pride our community takes in protecting these mountain spaces. A few hours of effort left the riverbanks looking fresh and ready for the season ahead. With over 200 volunteers, 45 sponsors, and 8 vendors pitching in, the effort made a huge impact. More than 2,000 pounds of trash and invasive species were collected in a single day!
Camping at Lower McCullough’s Gulch
Brady set off on a hike-out camping trip to Lower McCullough’s Gulch, hauling gear into the backcountry for a night under the stars. The reward? Crisp mountain air, alpine views, and those early splashes of fall color that make September camping in Colorado so special.
Breckenridge Oktoberfest
We couldn’t miss one of Breckenridge’s biggest celebrations, Oktoberfest! Downtown was buzzing with Bavarian food, live music, and plenty of steins raised high. Anna spent some time volunteering at the event, which was a fun way to be part of the behind-the-scenes action before joining in on the festivities. It’s always a highlight of the season and a perfect way to toast the end of summer and welcome fall.
Fall Colors Arrive
Perhaps the biggest show of all this month was courtesy of Mother Nature. The aspens have begun their transformation, covering the mountainsides in brilliant shades of yellow and gold. It’s a short-lived season, but one of our absolute favorites. Every trail and drive feels like stepping into a postcard.
That’s a wrap on our September happenings. Community, adventure, celebration, and fall beauty all rolled into one month. As always, if you’re interested in our real estate market here in Summit County, CO, give us a shout!
