Twin Lakes Colorado Short-Term Rental Rules
Twin Lakes is a census designated place within Lake County, CO. Twin Lakes is not incoporated as a town and therefore homeowners in the area must abide by the short-term rental regulations of unincorporated Lake County.
Unincorporated Lake County includes all areas of Lake County that are not incorporated towns or cities. In Lake County, residential properties are permitted to be used for Short Term Rentals, provided that the owner obtains the necessary license. There are 2 types of licenses available (see below).
License Categories:
Primary License: This is a license for short-term rentals used as the primary living space by either the property owner or a tenant authorized by the owner. There is no limit to the number of Primary Short-Term Rental Licenses issued.
Standard License: This license applies to short-term rentals not used as the primary dwelling. The issuance of Standard Short-Term Rental Licenses is limited to 135 total. Additionally, within the Community Housing Overlay, defined by the Community Planning & Development Map, no more than 19 Standard Licenses are allowed, and none may be issued for properties in a manufactured home community.
Update 8/15/2024: There are currently 2 Standard Licenses available, but none available within the Community Housing Overlay.
