Keystone Short-Term Rental Rules
Keystone officially became Colorado’s newest town on 2/8/2024 at 4:00 PM with the swearing in of its first mayor. Prior to incorporation, Keystone was considered a ‘resort zone’ within unincorporated Summit County. 100% of properties located within the Keystone resort zone were allowed to obtain STR licenses with no restrictions on nights rented or number of reservations.
Update 2/23/2024 from the town of Keystone: “There have been no policy changes regarding STR licenses nor any change to the Resort Zone designation since incorporation. If any changes are proposed in the future the matter will be noticed and public input will be taken. For the next few months, Summit County will continue to process all STR licenses requested inside the Town of Keystone boundaries. The Town will begin processing STR licenses hopefully later this year and will provide adequate notice when that will happen.”
