2026 Goose Pasture Tarn Permits
The Town has streamlined the process this year by combining Tarn Access Permits and Boat Permits into one application through the Town’s Citizen Portal.
Residents applying should be prepared with:
Vehicle license plate information
Watercraft details and quantities
Mailing or pickup preference for hangtags
A new hangtag system has also been implemented for 2026. Hangtags must be visibly displayed while parked at the Tarn, and the vehicle license plate must match the permit information on file.
According to the Town, failure to properly display a valid hangtag may result in removal from the Tarn facilities.
Important Tarn Rules for 2026
The Town of Blue River also reiterated several important regulations intended to preserve access and safety for residents:
Tarn Access is Limited to:
Blue River property owners and residents
Approved long-term renters staying more than 31 consecutive days (with formal permit transfer)
Guests accompanied by a resident at all times
Short-Term Renters Are Prohibited
Per Town Municipal Code, short-term renters and their guests are not permitted to use Goose Pasture Tarn amenities.
The Town also noted that misuse of resident permits by short-term renters could result in permit revocation and penalties for property owners.
Boat Usage Requirements
Residents may only use the number and type of watercraft declared within their application and paid for through the permit process.
