Fairplay STR Regulations

The Town of Fairplay allows short-term rentals but limits the total number of STR permits that may be issued. Under the Town's current ordinance, permits are capped at 6.5% of Fairplay's housing inventory, which currently allows for 20 total STR permits. Property owners must obtain a permit before operating a short-term rental within town limits.

Current STR Availability

As of July 2026, Fairplay has 10 active STR permits with 10 permits still available. There is currently no waitlist, and applications must be submitted by the property owner with proof of ownership.
